Chiang Mai

My dad and me at Wat (temple) Chedi  Luang in Chiang Mai

Big Buddha
In Chiang Mai wherever you go/look you will see lots of wats. Most Thai's are Buddhist. The wat I am in front is one of many important wats in the city. Thai people believe that spirits live under the threshold, so Thai people step over all of the thresholds because of that belief. And to respect there customs we do the same. Every man in Thailand has to be a monk for part of their life. Monks go around every morning for free food.

In the second photo there is a big buddha. There is a story to go with the picture. Once there was a monk, he was so handsome that all men and women fell in love with him, many people looked up to him and not the main monk. The handsome monk did not want this so he turned him self in to a fat, ugly Buddha.

  2. Joji!!! I love that you are doing your own blog too. How was your plane ride? What does your house look like? Does anything look like Arlington?? I have so many questions for you. I've been asking Maya P. if she has heard from you and now today i can tell her to check out your blog. I'll make sure Zoe and Emma see this when they get home from school. Miss you.

    1. Hi Judy, Zoe and Emma,
My plane ride was a roller coaster going to one plane to another.(4 plane rides) our house is smelly and has no furniture! Our kitchen is empty we don't have a stove or counters we only have the table that has our cook top on it! And nothing looks like Arlington! But most of all I'm having lots of fun!

How's Thailand? It seems pretty awesome. You should post a couple of Thai words that you learned! I pretty much have the same questions for you as ''Judy''(A.K.A. my library teacher) How's the food? Is it like Thai Moon? Better? Worse? I can't wait until you're back and you can tell me stories at our sleepover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
